Fortnite's Avengers: Endgame

Fortnite’s Avengers: Endgame mode is now playable

Epic Games and Marvel Studios have released the trailer for their second massive Fortnite collaboration. Their latest team-up has resulted in Fortnite Endgame, the battle royale players know and love combined with the latest MCU big-budget spectacle, Avengers: Endgame. You can check out the trailer in the player below!

Now, players can drop in with their squads, search for the Avenger’s items and take the fight directly to Thanos himself. Can you eliminate Thanos and his army before the last Infinity Stone is found? Or will he complete the Infinity Gauntlet and pick up a Snap Royale? There’s only one way to find out.

RELATED: Avengers: Endgame World Premiere Photos

The first collaboration between the battle royale platform and Marvel was last year’s “Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup,” which featured a standard Fortnite game that included the Infinity Gauntlet, plus all six Infinity Stones, as a findable item in the game. This latest mod really ratchets up the possibilities, with items like Captain America’s shield, Iron Man’s armor, or Thor’s newest weapon, Stormbreaker.

The Avengers: Endgame mode will be available for free on Fortnite across all platforms (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and iOS). Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode is also free to play. Also, Avengers: Endgame is in theaters starting this weekend. So, there’s that.

PlayStation 5: New Details Revealed for Sony’s Next-Gen Console

PlayStation 5: New Details Revealed for Sony's Next-Gen Console

PlayStation 5: New details revealed for Sony’s next-gen console

Wired has revealed new details about Sony’s next-gen console, not officially titled but likely the PlayStation 5, thanks to lead architect Mark Cerny who teased that the new console will allow for “fundamental changes in what a game can be.”

RELATED: World War Z Gameplay Trailer Shows How to Outlive the Zombies

For the new console, which won’t be released anytime this year, Cerny integrated his own gaming wishes on top of what developers’ are hoping to see in a more powerful system that is able to deliver previously unattainable graphics and visual effects, a system memory increased in size and speed, and game files that necessitate larger downloads as well as higher-capacity physical media.

The PlayStation 5 will still use physical media and will be backward-compatible with the PlayStation 4’s games. When the new console does come out, new games will be released for the PS4 as well as the PS5.

The PS5’s GPU will support ray tracing, which helps simulate complex interactions in 3D settings. An AMD chip will include a custom unit for 3D audio, redefining sound in video games and allowing for more immersion for players. The console also has a new CPU, the third generation of AMD’s Ryzen line, containing eight cores of new 7nm Zen 2 microarchitecture.

RELATED: Borderlands 3 Announcement Trailer Reveals September Release Date

One of the biggest reveals is that the new console will have an internal SSD and will support 8K graphics. Cerny didn’t reveal much about the SSD, except that it has a raw bandwidth higher than any PC SSD. Cerny explained that they focused on raw read speed, input-output mechanisms, and a software stack to accelerate loading times, as well as how quickly a character can move through new worlds and environments.

What do you think about the new details Cerny revealed about the PlayStation 5? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

The Jedi: Fallen Order Trailer Reveals the Latest Star Wars Game

The Jedi: Fallen Order Trailer Reveals the Latest Star Wars Game

Straight from Star Wars Celebration 2019 comes the official trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the next official video game from a galaxy far, far away. Check out the Jedi: Fallen Order trailer in the player below and look for the game to debut on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 15!

Fans will play as a young Padawan named Cal Kestis, brought to life by Cameron Monaghan (Shameless, Gotham), who has survived Order 66, the Emperor’s secret decree to eliminate all Jedi. Players must pick up the pieces of Cal’s shattered past to complete his training and master the art of the iconic lightsaber – all while staying one step ahead of the Empire and its deadly Inquisitors.

“When Respawn approached us with the idea for this game, we were immediately supportive. A single player, story-driven title in the Star Wars universe was exactly what we were looking for, and we know the fans have been eager for one, as well”

“When Respawn approached us with the idea for this game, we were immediately supportive. A single player, story-driven title in the Star Wars universe was exactly what we were looking for, and we know the fans have been eager for one, as well,” said Steve Blank, Director, Franchise Content & Strategy, Lucasfilm Story Group. “Focusing on Cal stepping back into the shoes of a Jedi post Order 66 opens up a lot of gameplay opportunities and rich story threads to develop for this new character and his backstory.”

Players will meet Cal on Bracca, a brand-new Star Wars planet and one of several new locations introduced in the game. Cal is hiding from the Empire in plain sight but is forced to go on the run when he exposes his Force powers. Along the way, Cal will make new friends, like his mysterious companion Cere, as well as run into some familiar faces, all while being accompanied by his faithful droid BD-1. Cal’s flight from the Empire is made even more dangerous as he is being pursued by the Second Sister, one of the Empire’s elite Inquisitors, who seeks to hunt Cal down and extinguish this surviving Jedi. Assisting the Second Sister are the terrifying Purge Troopers, special Imperial forces trained to seek out Jedi and aid the Inquisitors in their dastardly work.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is designed with gameplay as a top priority in order to deliver the kind of intense Star Wars lightsaber battles that are seen in the films. Brought to life by Respawn, a studio known for high-quality games that are both visually beautiful and technically masterful, players will use their Jedi training to create different melee combinations with an innovative lightsaber combat system and Force abilities. Players will also use traversal and other platforming abilities to strategically overcome opponents and solve puzzles in their path across this galaxy-spanning adventure. Star Wars fans will recognize iconic locations, weapons, gear, and enemies, while also meeting a roster of fresh characters, locations, creatures, droids and adversaries new to Star Wars.

RELATED: The Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Trailer is Here!!!

Darth Vader: we know him as the galaxy’s most infamous villain whose mere breathing can spread terror across an entire universe. A blend of advanced technology and moral decay, his power is unrivaled. Vader’s death is, of course, famous to fans all over the world — but there’s still much to be told about his life.

The series — set up by the events of Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire — takes place on the lava planet Mustafar between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, and features a unique combination of immersive cinematic storytelling and dramatic interactive play. You’ll go inside Vader’s fortress, first seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is set in the fiery wasteland the Sith Lord calls home.

Viewers will have the chance to be at the center of the story, an active character in the experience itself which is only possible in virtual reality.

“As a lifelong Star Wars fan, working with ILMxLAB on an untold Vader story is a dream come true. The experience is designed to be ‘immersive first,’ meaning that from its inception, this 3-part series has been conceived and executed specifically for the VR medium,” added Goyer. “We’re breaking new ground with this project that places you, the user, at the center of the story.”

The 3-part series was written by David S. Goyer who will executive produce. Vicki Dobbs Beck will serve as executive in charge, and the series will arrive on Oculus Quest sometime this year. Award-winning developer Ninja Theory and Epic Games are also helping with development.
